about
'Alone' was written in the very early days of forming Birddog. The song describes the idea of being alone, and the difficulties of choosing between being alone and being around those "people" would be considered close to us. The idea of this song is about weighing up the pros and cons of being by yourself versus being around others. This song also explains how being lazy can affect your social relationships and may influence the idea of choosing to be Alone.
The melodies draw inspiration from artist Stef Lynn, while the lyrics convey the simple topic of loneliness. The song practically wrote itself, and we felt the theme worked well with the style of music we were beginning to create.
lyrics
Sometimes, I want to
Talk to, my friends
Yeah most times, I can’t hold
Conversation, oh it’s so unfair
Some days, I want to
Hang out, with my friends
Yeah most times, I’m lazy and fucked up
Like the time I have alone is so important
No it’s not
And every second, I want something so real
Something worthwhile, something we all feel
But maybe its better off, I am alone
Sometimes I wish I wasn’t alone
Some reason, can't shake off
The grudges I’ve held for so long
And sometimes, when I blink
Stare in mirrors and I think to myself
Where did I go wrong?
And every second, I want something so real
Something worthwhile, something we all feel
But maybe it’s better off, I am alone
And every minute, everyday
I wish for something to make me happy again
Something we all know, something we can agree on
Something we all know, something we can agree on
Sometimes I wish I wasn’t alone
